Scott Weis Serta/Barrett Enterprises dragster

Memphis, prerace: Barrett Enterprises and Weis Family Racing is looking forward to the annual trip to the "Birthplace of the Blues" in Memphis, but hope that the blues stay away from the racetrack at Memphis Motorsports Park. Pilot Scott Weis likes the idea of having the long travels of the Western Swing behind and visiting Memphis, just a short jaunt from Weis' home in Richmond, Va., is a welcome respite.

The team will continue to experiment with their new clutch combination at the muggy Mid-South racetrack. This race appears to be the most challenging with respect to the heat and humidity. Qualifying and elimination's are scheduled to be run under the lights of the evening, avoiding the intense rays of the sun.
