Cruz Pedregon Snap-on Toyota Solara Funny Car

Reading, Friday: Cruz Pedregon and the Advance Auto Parts Nitro Funny Car completed the first two rounds of qualifying at Maple Grove Raceway today in the 15th spot.

The California resident logged a 4.927-second elapsed time at 312.13 mph during the second pass of the day setting up two important qualifying sessions for tomorrow. Pedregon talked about their qualifying strategy.

 “Today, it was a huge effort to make sure the car went down the track,” Pedregon explained. “We’re being conservative so we don’t make any erratic mistakes like smoking the tires. I want to make sure the Advance Auto Parts team qualifies for Sunday’s eliminations. We have a really good car and tomorrow we may step the game up a bit.”

Pedregon’s first effort of the weekend gave him a 5.343-second elapsed time at 249.86 mph.
